Artist Brand Photography For Michelle Collins

Working with Michelle Collins is always such a treat. She is a Houston based nude and portrait artist with a whimsical, dream like style that feels instantly recognizable. Oil paints are her medium of choice, and you can see her love for the process in every brushstroke. Michelle’s studio is actually close to the Lightbulb League studio, so it was incredibly easy and convenient for her to come by for her brand session.

Even though some clients have their own workspaces that we could technically photograph in, many still choose to come to our studio instead. The blank space and the natural light we get here are hard to beat. There is a certain moodiness and softness that happens in this space that sets the tone for a lot of creative brands, especially ones with an artistic or emotional pull. Michelle immediately saw the vision and loved how well the studio fit the feel of her work.

She arrived with such a great selection of items. She brought easels, her paints, several completed pieces, a few works in progress, and some perfectly on-brand outfits. Having all of these pieces created such a full visual story of her process and her artistry. Michelle’s brand vibe is sultry and moody, so that guided the entire session. We leaned into deeper tones, intentional styling, expressive posing, and wardrobe choices that matched her artistic voice. Everything came together in a way that felt true to her and true to the emotional pull of her paintings.

Our favorite part of working with Michelle was seeing how naturally she embodied the world she creates in her art. Her presence matched her work: soft but powerful, bold but thoughtful. Capturing that balance through photos felt easy because she already lives it so clearly in her creative process.

We loved every minute of this session and cannot wait to see how Michelle uses her images to continue sharing her dream like world with her audience.
