Brand Photo Session with Tin Cup Flower Co
Any time spent with Aelish of Tin Cup Flower Co is a good time. She came to us with the idea of a brand photo session, and we were immediately on board. The inspiration behind her session was 1990s farm to table cookbooks; think grainy photos, moody shadows, sun-drenched linen, time in the garden, and freshly picked veggies using your dirt-covered hands. I happen to think we nailed it; check out the story and photos below.
Spending the morning in Aelish’s garden was such a great experience. Tamara and I arrived just as the sun was coming up, and the early light made everything look even more beautiful. The garden was full of color; zinnias, cosmos, Queen Anne’s lace, roses, and even herbs and veggies growing alongside the flowers. You could tell how much care she puts into it all.
Aelish is both a farmer and a florist, which means she grows a lot of the flowers she later arranges. Seeing that whole process come together was really fun to capture. She moved through the garden, snipping flowers, gathering stems, deadheading, and pulling together arrangements on the spot. We focused on a mix of shots; some wide ones to show off the full, lush garden and plenty of close-ups of the flowers and her hands at work.
One of my favorite moments was photographing the way the morning light hit the petals; soft and golden at first, then brighter as the sun got higher. Light plays such a big role in photos, and this session was a perfect example of how much it can change the feel of an image.
By the time we wrapped up, Aelish had created some beautiful floral arrangements, and we had a collection of images that really captured her process. If you are a florist, grower, or creative and want photos that showcase what you do in an authentic way, let’s chat about a brand session!
